Life Lately pt:2

Continuing where I left off:

On saturday the 29th, Rhode Island saw its first real snowstorm of the year! The snow was coming down pretty good, it was awesome. Gabe and I went to Providence to visit his friend Nate at McInnis Tattoo to throw around ideas and hang out. After we left there, Gabe took me out to Pastiche. He kept it a secret until we got there; he knows exactly what I like! Pastiche is basically a French style dessert cafe with amazing pastries and a light, airy ambience. I felt like a little girl the entire time, smiling and giggly. :) We ordered drinks, me a mocha cafe and Gabe a hot chocolate. Our desserts included slices of the most delicious pumpkin cheesecake and cranberry apple crisp. We sat in a little booth in the back, and it was perfect.

Afterwards, Gabe dropped me off at home and I spent a quiet night reading, painting, and listening to Cassino play while the snow fell. Around 1am I got a burst of energy and ended up hanging out with a friend I haven't seen in a while; it was a good night!

As everyone knows, this past monday was Halloween! Ari was a little bumblebee, and at last minute I threw on some black clothes, covered my nose in blush and drew on eyeliner whiskers to be a kitty. :) Ari got a total kick out of it! We go to my Matantes house across the city every year for all the big holidays- Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter. This year we arrived around 630, Ari ate beef stew, we chatted with the fam and then went out for A's first year of trick or treating! She had so much fun, and totally understood the point of the 'holiday'. We went to about 7 houses all together, and each time you would hear Ari's little voice: "Trick or Treatin'!" Holding out her bag to get candy, she was thrilled. We had a very good night; unfortunately, all A wants to eat lately is chocolate!

..Already a teenager -_-

hahaha their faces

Tonight, I'll be back at McInnis Tattoo to watch Nate tattoo Gabe. As for the rest of the weekend, we'll see where it takes me since I have nothing planned! Happy friday loves <3

We're off to see the wizard!

Today was an excellent day. :) This morning was my memere's birthday brunch - she's 96! She's so healthy, living in her own apartment, doing her own thing. It's pretty incredible; we love her! ♥

After brunch my family (mom, dad, sister, c, and A) and I headed to the Stadium Theatre for the local production of the Wizard of Oz! It was pretty good, I definitely enjoyed myself; Ari, not so much lol. My mom ended up just leaving with her, and she ended up falling asleep. (She's had a yucky cough, but we're trying to take care of that naturally before we bring her to the doctors for any antibiotics.) Tonight was just time to relax, ahhh...

Fresh food, cute babies, and hippie people

Today my mom, A and I headed to the Pawtucket Winter Farmers Market at the Hope Artiste Village. We are so in love! The market is in an old (and beautiful) mill, and we arrived at 10am to find the place packed. There were barrels for recycling compost! Eggs cartons lined a wall, stacked neatly by the people returning them for reuse. Fresh food everywhere we turned! Artisan soaps everywhere, herbs, grass-feed beef, fresh-baked bread, fresh cheeses, delicious vegan ice cream, among many other things. The vendors were just great, everybody was so friendly and so natural. There were samples on every table, everyone ate it all up! Every vendor is either from Rhode Island or Southern Massachusetts. It was a wonderful atmosphere, we plan to go back every week for our produce. A loves to carry around a whole apple, and honestly this apple didn't start turning brown for 5 hours! What is that telling you? GMO and pesticide-free food (aka Organic) is the way to go. I love the fact that the people running the tables were the farmers themselves. I was speaking to the person harvesting my food, and supporting local agriculture. What's better than that?!

There was a wonderful violin shoppe inside the mill

Afterwards, A and I hung out at my parents for the day and C came for dinner. A played with some board games, and we watched a wolf in the backyard. It was so close, although it was unbelievable to see, I was kind of frightened, even behind the glass door! All in all it was such a lovely day, I hope it's a recurring thing ♥ I hope you loveys had just as great a day! Xo
