It's been all "go, go, go" and not enough time to slow down. My fatigue finally gave way and I've been trying to get in as much as possible before it surely returns.
On friday, a wonderful friend took my car while I was at work, left me his, and I arrived at his house to mine working perfectly! I am so thrilled I'm not going to have to sell the Volkswagen. We have been through a lot, that car and I. Most major decisions of my life, too. Up and down the entire East Coast, Maine to Florida. I'm getting all sentimental now, but really, the GTI has been hangin' in there with me better than any guy I've ever dated ;]
This weekend was a good one! Of course spent with great friends, having some drinks in Providence and lots of laughs. I've been having the best mornings too, it's so nice.
Monday night, Ari was with her dad, so I headed to Providence once more. My friend Paul and I decided to meet up for drinks and to see a French film at the Cable Car Cinema, a small little theater downtown. We went to Centro to visit one of our friends, and then headed to the XO Cafe, the cutest little place. If you're looking for somewhere to go for drinks, and want an intimate but somewhat vintage experience, definitely try that place out. They even serve complimentary homemade potato crisps- amazing! After finishing our drinks {Whiskey + Amaretto Sours = love} we headed down the street to the film. Holy Motors is a film apparently about a man travelling through different lives. It was in French, and although with subtitles, very easy to follow. The plot was a lot more confusing. If you can view this film, do it! You will not be disappointed. When it finished, we of course stopped at Muldowney's and for a monday night, it was surprisingly packed. I didn't stay too long, but overall it was an awesome night!
I've been going wild at home- cleaning everything I can, organizing, whatever I can do before I burn myself out. Last night alone, I did mostly all of the dishes, seven loads of laundry, brought to the recycling about a months worth of cardboard and bottles. I'm feeling accomplished and it's a nice change, haha.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! It came so fast. I can't say I'm a big fan of the holidays... too many people crammed together making small talk, is not really something I enjoy. I am, however, looking forward to having the day off and spending my morning with Ari, as they are few and far between. I can't wait to let her wake up on her own time and cook her breakfast! We're doing something small this year, as things have been kind of hectic in my immediate family. Friday is the real special day, though- A will be three years old! Time has flown, and it makes me so sad; I miss baby Ari. At the same time, it's an amazing thing to see what an awesome little girl she is and is turning out to be.
Tonight, Lorena and I are taking our little girls bowling- Ari's first time! It's going to be the cutest thing to see. Photo update soon!
OH, and I am still committed to NaBloPoMo, I just needed a tiny vaca, haha.
Xoxo

Memorial Day Weekend!
This past weekend could not have gone better! Early friday night, I met up with my good friend Jim and his new girlfriend, Jolene. It was my very first time meeting her, and I am seriously so glad Jim introduced us! She's wonderful. We met up in Providence, of course Muldowney's, and enjoyed the beautiful weather sitting outside. Jims friend also showed up, and we ended up at a birthday party at the News Cafe in Pawtucket. The night was just perfect, and ended well too.
Saturday night, I convinced Lorena to come over and go out for karaoke, so back to the spot we went. We spent the entire night outside, listening to snippets of drunk people singing when the door opened, making friends, laughing. Typical night there. :)
Sunday was by far one of the coolest days. Lorena and I were invited out to go boating with our friends (haha- Muldown bartenders) Johnny, Ron and Kevin. We spent almost the entire night at Oakland Beach in Warwick- fishing, swimming, almost flying off the boat... lol. The fog rolled in very fast and thick, so we headed for land. We walked through a random carnival next to the beach and parked our wet butts in front of the fire pits they had in back of Marley's. Fireworks and the ocean right in front of us- too cool. Afterwards, we ate our body weight in fried clams and chowda over at Iggy's. YUM. The night was still pretty young when we left Warwick so we decided to go check out what was going on in Providence. It turned out to be totally worth it. Once again reclaiming my chair outdoors, I had a front row seat for illegal fireworks in the middle of downtown Providence. EPIC. Lighting them off right in the middle of the street haha it was like a professional display. We ended up leaving about an hour after closing, just hangin' with Tom, headed home with Lorena and went to bed.
Today was a chill day. I had to deal with a popped tire, but I learned how to change it myself, which is a win. Gabe and I went on a motorcycle ride and I picked Ari up from Chucks. She's obsessed with being barefoot outside, so she ran around for a while before it was dinner time and the usual routine. Tonight she told me I was the best mommy; I so almost cried. The time is flying.. Last week was her half birthday, and for the sake of it only coming once a year, I let her choose what she wanted for dinner. Ice cream was her first choice hey, why not? We ended up at Lincoln Creamery with vanilla and coffee ice creams. Ari about ate all of mine, and then sat in the rest, crushing the styrofoam haha. All I could do was laugh. <3

She was being so silly, I kept trying to push her back a little to get a good photo but she kept shaking her head and moving forward haha. Ari really does hate the camera

I'm not quite sure I know what a "yard sald" is.... haha

I'm excited to have only a 4 day work week ahead of me, however I'm sure it's going to be ridiculously busy. The kittens have opened their eyes, and oh my god. They are just the sweetest things on earth. Photos tomorrow!

Life Lately pt:2
Continuing where I left off:
On saturday the 29th, Rhode Island saw its first real snowstorm of the year! The snow was coming down pretty good, it was awesome. Gabe and I went to Providence to visit his friend Nate at McInnis Tattoo to throw around ideas and hang out. After we left there, Gabe took me out to Pastiche. He kept it a secret until we got there; he knows exactly what I like! Pastiche is basically a French style dessert cafe with amazing pastries and a light, airy ambience. I felt like a little girl the entire time, smiling and giggly. :) We ordered drinks, me a mocha cafe and Gabe a hot chocolate. Our desserts included slices of the most delicious pumpkin cheesecake and cranberry apple crisp. We sat in a little booth in the back, and it was perfect.

Afterwards, Gabe dropped me off at home and I spent a quiet night reading, painting, and listening to Cassino play while the snow fell. Around 1am I got a burst of energy and ended up hanging out with a friend I haven't seen in a while; it was a good night!

As everyone knows, this past monday was Halloween! Ari was a little bumblebee, and at last minute I threw on some black clothes, covered my nose in blush and drew on eyeliner whiskers to be a kitty. :) Ari got a total kick out of it! We go to my Matantes house across the city every year for all the big holidays- Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter. This year we arrived around 630, Ari ate beef stew, we chatted with the fam and then went out for A's first year of trick or treating! She had so much fun, and totally understood the point of the 'holiday'. We went to about 7 houses all together, and each time you would hear Ari's little voice: "Trick or Treatin'!" Holding out her bag to get candy, she was thrilled. We had a very good night; unfortunately, all A wants to eat lately is chocolate!

..Already a teenager -_-

hahaha their faces

Tonight, I'll be back at McInnis Tattoo to watch Nate tattoo Gabe. As for the rest of the weekend, we'll see where it takes me since I have nothing planned! Happy friday loves <3
